The aim of the association is to contribute to the understanding of mankind through the study of various northern cultures of Eurasia and North America and through international exchange.

1)Organizing a general meeting (international symposium)
2)Collection and sending out of information on northern studies
3)Exchange of information and cooperation with other related academic associations
4)Other undertakings necessary for the northern studies
5.Qualification for Membership
1)1,000 yen annual membership fee (US$10 in foreign countries)
2)Interest in the Study of northern cultures
6.Administration
1)The chairman represents NSA.
2)The secretariat performs NSA general affairs and publicizes and organizes the symposium.
3)The advisor gives advice to NSA when necessary.
4)A general meeting (symposium) will be held on certain years and the general meeting acts as the decision-making body of the association.
